The Pantera had a number of different throttle cables depending on the year as DeTomaso tied to make the throttle work smoother. Some Panteras I have seen have a second throttle spring modified so strong to overcome a sticky cable that you can hardly move the throttle. This also causes the carburetor throttle body and shaft undue wear. New throttle cables are available from most Pantera supply companies for less that $60 that are well worth the effort to install for the improved driveability and safety.
